What educators are saying

Teaching social skills to first graders is a challenge normally, but as we return to in-person learning after one and a half years of distance learning, this resource was so helpful. Thank you!

Description

Make kindness a focus in your classroom or guidance lessons with this Social Emotional Learning Unit focused on being kind. This SEL Kindness Unit includes everything you need to teach your elementary students about kindness, provide them with kindness activities to help them identify what kindness looks like and use random acts of kindness to help them put kindness into action. Great for February Random Acts of Kindness, November World Kindness Day supplementation or at any time of year.

Add social emotional learning to your lesson plans with this Kindness unit. This unit includes projectable teaching resources, no prep activity pages, hands-on kindness sorts, original poems about kindness, kindness reading response activities, kindness writing activities and random acts of kindness cards. This unit also includes a letter to send home to let families know about your SEL Kindness Unit. While designed with first grade students in mind, this resource could easily be used with kindergarten, second and third grades too.

Kindness never goes out of season, so use these kindness lessons and activities all year long. Or use for World Kindness Day (November 13th), Random Acts of Kindness Day (February 17th) or near Martin Luther King, Jr Day, when many teachers love to revisit the kindness poems and kindness pledge. View the Preview file for more details about this Kindness Unit!

⭐ I used this as an SEL lesson with my students. It was awesome to use when teaching lessons on kindness and respect towards their classmates and other students in school!!!! I had a couple of parents let me know that their child came home talking about the poems and other things we talked about while using this unit!!

⭐ There are so many parts of this that are awesome. I have used this in small groups and in classroom guidance lessons.

⭐ This was the perfect resource to use to form a classroom community! We also used it during kindness week!
