Hey! When working with students with sensory processing issues I am always looking for ways to help students and quickly identify how a student is behaving/acting at any moment as well as giving them a toolbox of activity ideas that they can use in the classroom to help self regulate. I have provided three different versions of this meter that can be used for a variety of students of differing age and abilities. The first simply has the words (Too Fast, Too Slow or Just Right). The first could be simply used as a gauge to help students/teachers identify their current mood.
The second and third version are designed for students to begin identifying activities that they can do to help calm themselves or to help alert them so they can focus on the activity at hand. One version has a preset list of activities for students in each of the categories and the third has a list so that students could help fill in activities that help them calm down, alert or maintain neutral feeling. I would recommend laminating these to reduce wear and tear. The last option has line drawings to give a visual representation of each level for those students unable to read.
Levels identified is complementary with How Your Engine Runs Series.
Hope you enjoy.
