Teach your students the rules for understanding when to use SER vs. when to use ESTAR! This fun PowerPoint presentation will help them understand the difference through the use of bright, colorful graphics and fun pictures.
The first part of the presentation covers the rules for when to use SER and for when to use ESTAR, and the second part includes a "Question & Answer" section where students have to decide which verb to use under specific circumstances or when applying specific rules.
Students will learn the following rules for using SER:
- Characteristics of people or things
- What something is made of…
- Time and date
- Where or when an event takes place
Students will learn the following rules for using ESTAR:
- Physical states and conditions
- Emotional states
- Certain weather expressions
- Ongoing actions (present progressive)
Teacher Tip! Teach students fun little rhymes to remember the difference! (Rhymes included in the slides.)
