Let students practice reading the 'sh' digraph sound with this reading card game. To remind students of the "sh" phonics rule, the theme for this digraph practice game is shoes! 36 word cards to practice the "sh" sound are included.
Why not review 'sh' words in such a fun way that students forget they are practicing their phonics? The 'read and keep' card game style is simple and popular, and my sh digraph set includes 36 words with 'sh' and 12 'change it up cards.'
Prep is quick and easy, even when laminating cards (recommended). Once your cards are cut, simply place them in a recycled coffee can or a small paper bag, and your center is ready!
Game instructions are intended to be kid-friendly, and a phonics 'sh' card is included as well. I fold the instructions page in half, so that directions are on the front, and the phonics card is on the back.
I have labeled this as Superkids Level 3 (Grade 1), Unit 1, because that is when the 'sh' pattern is introduced and I include words from that program as well as additional sh, short vowel words. This is appropriate for any first grade classroom, not just those using Superkids :)
