These shared reading partner worksheets are perfect for literacy centers and for teaching digraphs ch, sh, th and wh. Children love to 'be the teacher' and point to the words as their partner reads. As they listen and check they are reinforcing their learning of the sounds. They can even mark their work by ticking the boxes.
This is a proven method of learning sounds and works really well. The words are kept VERY SIMPLE so that even the poorest of readers is not put off learning and can progress quickly towards building fluency. The words are repeated frequently to secure learning and as the worksheet progresses the sentences have subtle changes to challenge and make sure that the child is reading correctly and is observing the words. There is also a smattering of sight words thrown in, which the children read together first before starting the sentences. These are perfect for remediation, intervention and EFL and ELS teaching.
You can use these with one child and yourself as the partner or you can partner suitable children together. If you laminate them you can re-use them time and time again. There are two versions, level 1 has the words underlined that are being learned and level 2 doesn't.
I have lots of easy to read phonics worksheets and poems in my store! I teach intensively and do a lot of over-learning and my resources often reflect this.
