DIRECTIONS FOR PLAY ( 2-6 players)
•Choose a SILLY SENSELESS “SH” SENTENCES” mat you wish to use with each student. If students are working on different target sounds within the group more than one board can be used. Each student gets his or her own individual game board. The same boards or different boards can be given to each player.
•Players take turns. One “SILLY SENSELESS SENTENCE” per turn. Players use the sentence frame printed at the bottom of the game mat to make their “SILLY SENSELESS SENTENCE”. Choose a player to start the game. The player rolls his/her dice. He/she then locates the colored dice on his/her game mat and places each die within the matching colored rectangle. This will aid in keeping track of the words the student will need to produce the “SILLY SENSELESS SENTENCE” out loud. The student then says the “SILLY SENSELESS SENTENCE” using the words he/she has rolled. Remember the player should use great /sh/ sounds. After the sentence has been said correctly, the player places a token/chip over each of the pictures used in that turn and passes the dice to the next player.
•If you roll the dice and you have already covered a picture in a previous turn, you must still say the sentence using the words. On each turn you only place a token/chip on the uncovered words.
•If you choose to do so the student can then be asked to write the sentence on the activity sheet included and it can be sent home as reinforcement practice for homework.
The student who covers all six pictures in one colored section, red, blue or green, calls out “BINGO” and is the winner.
***The “SILLY SENSELESS SENTENCE” game mat can also be used with a single student. The student rolls all three dice and places each one on the corresponding picture on the “SILLY SENSELESS SENTENCE” game mat. Using the words rolled and the sentence frame located at the bottom of the mat, the student says the sentence aloud using correct /sh/ sounds. The student can then write the sentence on the activity sheet included and it can be sent home as reinforcement practice for homework.
