Are you using SIPPS Beginning Level to help teach children their sight words and how to decode single syllable words? I use it on a daily basis and am constantly thinking of ways I can extend their reading practice using only the letters/sight words/decodable patterns my students have learned thus far. I found myself constantly taking a piece of paper and trying to think of sentences they could read and draw about on the spot! My kids enjoy it, so I thought I’d make life easier on myself and make a set of comprehension pages to always have on hand!
I tried very hard to stick to only letters/sight words/decodable patterns students have learned during and up to each lesson. In this sampler packet, you will find five practice pages from various lessons in the Beginning Level of SIPPS. Practice opportunities for drawing things with beginning sounds all the way to reading whole sentences and drawing pictures to show understanding are used in this packet.
