“CURLY” is a full size skeleton mock up. It engages the students by allowing them to cut out and assemble the skeleton. Along the way they learn the names, purpose and positions of each. Each student traces around his/her body on butcher paper. After several days of assembly they are left with the finished mock up. My units, MUSCLES, NERVOUS SYSTEM, CIRCULATION and RESPIRATION, DIGESTION, and DISEASE, as organs may be subsequently attached to the skeletal mock up. My students named this mock up “Curly” because each time the project is worked on it can be rolled up for storage and transportation. With each opening, the project wants to stay rolled (curled). Thus, the name “Curly”. This kit includes printed bones that you will need to duplicate, and detailed instructions.
