Go-To Vocabulary Similarities and Differences packet contains materials for skill and drill to practice comparing and contrasting using real pictures of common items. The contents/suggested use is listed below.
This product includes:
24 word pairs with real pictures for identifying similarities and differences.
Cover card and cue cards.
Rolling similarities and differences worksheet.
Cue strips for interactive use with picture cards.
Data collection sheet.
Print, cut, and laminate all cards (pgs. 3-6). Use cover card and cue cards (page 7) placed at the top of the stack of cards. It is suggested to punch a hole in each card and use a ring (not included) to hold all cards together for quick reference, if desired.
Print page 8 and either copy as worksheets for students or use in sheet protectors/clear protectors with dry erase markers or chips and dice (not included).
Print page 9. Cut out cue strips for same and different. Laminate, if desired. Use cue strips with picture cards. Place a picture card in the box at the end of the cue card. Student practices telling same and different features for each pair.
Print page 10 and copy for each student. Write the pairs presented in the left column. For each trial/progress monitoring session, indicate the number of similarities and differences identified.
Suggested goal/objective: Within one year, student will verbally identify 3 similarities and 3 differences when presented with two pictured items, given prompts to include descriptive features in 80% of trials, assessed over 3 charted opportunities.
Alternate quick prep suggestion: Print pages 3-10. Keep cards as a hole sheet and place in sheet protectors (not included). Place all protectors on a ring (not included).
