# SMART Board Math: Fiesta Fun

Product Description
Your first graders will have fun this Cinco de Mayo with this interactive SMART Board Math lesson. It includes 60 slides with ten engaging fun filled activities with Cinco de Mayo themes. Let the fiesta begin!

PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE SMART NOTEBOOK SOFTWARE 11 ON YOUR COMPUTER TO USE THIS LESSON.

Students will practice:
1. Skip counting by 2’s, 3’s, 4’s, 5’s and 10’s:
-Wow! That Salsa is hot! Students will drag and drop the chilies by 2’s into the salsa and then write the answer in the circle.
-Chili Counting Patterns: Students will write the correct numbers in a sequence inside the string of chilies.

2. Fiesta Math Fact Families
-Students will practice Math Fact Families from 1-20 by dragging the numbers from inside the triangles on the right hand side of each slide to form the correct equations. Each number is set with the infinite cloner so that students can pull off and drag as many numbers as needed to complete the exercises.

I have separated the math facts 1-10 from the math facts 11-20. The math facts from one to 10 are on the pages with the red backgrounds and the math facts from 11-20 are on the pages with the green backgrounds. This will make it easier to differentiate in your classroom.

3. Fiesta Fun Patterns: (AAB, ABB, ABC, ABAB, ABCD, and AABB)

Students will complete the patterns by dragging and dropping the correct objects from the bottom of the slide. The objects are once again set with the infinite cloner.

4. Taco Tuesdays: (Math Facts 1-12)
There are 2 contestants Peter and Amy. Each contestant has 2 dice. Students will roll the dice by touching them on the screen. Students will then write the numbers in the equations and solve the equations for each of the contestants. Finally, they will drag the correct sign (equal, greater or less than) to show which contestant ate the most tacos.

5. Piñata Party Fun:

The directions for this activity are the same as for Taco Tuesdays. In this activity the students will need to determine who got more candy from the piñata.

6. Taco Eating Contest: (Math Facts 10-20)

Very similar to the Taco Tuesday Activity, but uses more difficult math facts.

7. Words Problems: Addition and Subtraction (10 slides)
