Learning to set a goal effectively is vital to students' success. Using the SMART acronym to help them to remember the parts of a successful goal is one of the best ways to help students achieve this.
I designed this presentation to use with my first through middle school level students. It can easily be adapted to teach them on their developmental level. It includes 25 slides, a master slide to customize and personalize it to fit your needs, links to 2 different videos that help to explain the process, and a worksheet that you can utilize to help students create their own SMART goal.
I would schedule 30-45 minutes for this lesson and activity.
The PowerPoint is customizable and includes practice to support you in your lesson. The presentation includes both animations and transitions to hold your students' interest. Make your lesson come alive for your students and help them to connect to the concept in a fun way that will help them to remember the important lessons you need for them to remember.
