SMART Goals- My SMART Financial Goals- Creating 3 Financial SMART Goals
This is an excellent no prep activity for students to do in a Personal Finance course when doing a unit on SMART goals but it can be used in any class. The activity involves students creating one short-term, one intermediate-term, and one long-term goal using the SMART model. Students need to brainstorm a list of goals that can be classified as one of these time frames. They then need to use the SMART concept to create the goals. The goals need to be financial. For an example: Goal- Get new sneakers. Short-term. SMART Goal- "I'll save $15 a week for the next month so that by April 1st I can buy myself a new pair of sneakers for gym class."
The worksheet contains directions, a detailed evaluation table, an explanation of the acronym SMART (which each letter consists of) and space for students to list and create their SMART financial goals.
