SOAPSTone is a device used to help students break down texts and identify the different elements of a work. It can also be used to help them structure their own writing.
Introduce your students to the structure of a SOAPSTone with this lesson designed around "Sympathy for the Devil" by the Rolling Stones!
This packet contains a detailed lesson plan, link to a Prezi, and a student and teacher version of the worksheet complete with sample answers and research. It should take approximately 90 minutes to teach and works great as part of a broader unit on either theme or literary analysis tools.
You can purchase just the graphic organizer separately in my shop. A free poster that follows the same layout is also available for download!
