Product Description
This easy one-page note sheet uses the typical AP Language SOAPStone reading strategy to analyze satire. When I taught AP Language, satire was always the last unit before the exam, so by that time in the year, my students were experienced in using the SOAPStone strategy for regular non-fiction pieces. (If you are not familiar with this strategy or your students are still learning it, I suggest you see the "beginners" version of the strategy that I have available for free in my store.)

This version asks students to take notes twice for each element--once for what the text purports to mean, and once for what it really means, thereby focusing the students on the object of the author's satire.
