I used this is with students over two days. We reviewed narrative elements, we then read a story together and students independently created a four square. I checked their work and guided them to making corrections. The next day they reread their four squares, had an opportunity to make any changes they liked, and then they typed them into the graphic organizer. Our school has a student-teacher drive on the system so I put it in my folder on their for them to access. Sometimes the pdf file will let you save the one they typed, sometimes it will not. I always print one first for safety in case theirs did not save correctly. I printed three copies for each kid, one for me, one for their writing portfolio and one for them to keep, they were so proud! They showed them off to everyone!
