I recently tried a Self Organized Learning Environment in my classroom in which I pose a "big question" to students and allow them to research and find the answer in groups. Their answers vary, and the cool thing is, they are in charge of their learning! After they find the answers, groups present to the class and THEY teach their peers! My students LOVED this! They were super motivated, and loved that they were responsible for teaching others. I found a SOLE to be very meaningful and easy to differentiate. It can be used for almost any subject as well.
Included is a guide for student to use and follow as they research, as well as the rubric I used to grade students. Simply type the big question into the box and let your students' minds wonder!
