SP.4 Bar Charts and Box Plots description
This lesson includes data, examples, and key vocabulary for students to practice creating box blots and bar charts.
There is a Powerpoint with step by step guidance and 4 pages of worksheets for students. You can adapt this lesson to all learning types. For example, the PowerPoint can guide struggling learners with examples and answers or you can use just the worksheets for advance students to practice. Teacher keys are included. I have also included sources used for gathering the data if you want to reference them for more examples.
The key vocabulary included for this lesson includes box plots, minimum, maximum, inner quartile range, inner quartile, upper quartile, median, bar charts, titles, labels, key, x-axis, y-axis. Many standardized tests ask students to look at graphs and find the inner quartile range. This is great practice for students to prepare for tests.
