PACKAGE 2 CHECKLIST

Listed below are all items included with this Space & Planets Bundle Package #2. Priced individually these assignments would cost a total of over $16. The bundle helps save you time and money.

#1 - PLANETS DATA CHART ASSIGNMENTS
A great start to any unit focusing on the planets of the Milky Way. The Planet Data Chart can be used for a variety of assignments and projects beyond the ones included with this bundle package.
Included assignments to use with the Planet Data Chart:
A) Planet Data Chart (11" x 17" version, or multi-page 8.5" x 11" version) that includes a variety of information on the 8 major planets and Pluto (moons, rings, important dates, characteristics, etc...)
B) Planet Question Sheets - two 20-question worksheets that have students use the data chart to find the needed answers (perfect for homework)
C) Planet Venn Diagram - two separate Venn Diagram papers that allow students to use their data charts to compare/contrast planets of their choice. There is also an additional Star Wars Venn Diagram of 2 fake planets that is ideal for homework.
D) Crossword Puzzle - a 45-clue puzzle where all answers are found using the Planet Data Chart
E) Planet Power Point / Prezi Rubric - a great technology assignment where students use the Planet Data Chart to design a 12-slide presentation on 5 different planets.
F) Science Writing Paper - Perfect for short in-class writing on any of the planets (description, compare/contrast, etc...)

#2 – PLANETS OF THE MILKY WAY TASK CARDS (40 CARDS)
This set of 40 task cards provides great information and visuals on the eight planets of our galaxy (sorry Pluto)! These cards are great for upper elementary and middle school students learning about the history and characteristics of the planets. Task cards are great for partner work, warm-ups, moving around the classroom, or simply giving students a break from the normal lectures, notes, and worksheets.
Included are 40 task cards focusing on the planets (5 cards per planet). Also included is a student answer sheet and a printable Planets of the Solar System visual (which may help younger learners). A teacher answer key is also included.
I have included the 40 task cards as both a PDF file (easy to print) and an MS-Word file (in case you want to make changes to any questions to better fit the needs of your students.

#3 – SPACE AND PLANETS VOCABULARY WORDSEARCH
This space and planets wordsearch is perfect for review, extra credit, or homework. The puzzle stresses key vocabulary so it's great to use in science or language arts classes.
Students are given a wordsearch but no list of terms. On the back side are 25 sentences with the key vocabulary removed. Students must complete the sentences with the correct terms and then find those words in the wordsearch. An answer key for the wordsearch is provided.

#4 – SPACE AND PLANETS VOCABULARY PUZZLE AND WRITING
This purchase is for a dual assignment perfect to compliment any science unit dealing with space and planets or can be used in language arts classrooms as a vocabulary assignment. It's great for classroom work, extra credit, or as homework.
A) Vocabulary Puzzle - students are given 26 terms connected to space and planets (A-Z) and must place the correct terms into the provided grid. ANSWER KEY PROVIDED.
B) Sentence Writing - students must write sentences connected to space and planets while incorporating the correct number of key terms from the puzzle into each sentence.
C) Definition Webquest - students choose 17 of the 26 terms from the vocabulary puzzle and search for the best definition that connects the term to the topic of space and planets.

#5 – MERCURY AND VENUS WEBQUEST
The webquest is 20 questions and focuses equally on both planets. Areas of interest for students to learn about are: planet history, characteristics, rotation and revolution times, atmosphere, temperature, exploration, etc... There are two follow-up compare/contrast questions as well.
The webquest is perfect for a one hour class period using technology or for a homework assignment.

#6 – EARTH AND THE MOON WEBQUEST
The webquest is 24 questions and focuses equally on both planet and moon. Areas of interest for students to learn about are: planet history, characteristics, atmosphere, rotation and revolution times, exploration, etc...
The webquest is perfect for a one hour class period using technology or for a homework assignment.

#7 – MARS AND ITS MOONS WEBQUEST
The webquest is 26-questions about all aspects of Mars (atmosphere, history, moons, exploration, size, and features).

#8 – JUPITER AND SATURN WEBQUEST
Front - 12 questions that focus on Jupiter (history, characteristics, rings, moons, exploration, etc...)
Back - 11 questions that focus on Saturn (history, characteristics, rings, moons, exploration, etc...)
The assignment is perfect for a one hour class period using technology or for a homework assignment.

#9 – URANUS AND NEPTUNE WEBQUEST
The webquest is 22 questions and focuses equally on both planets. Areas of interest for students to learn about are: planet history, characteristics, rotation and revolution times, rings, moons, exploration, etc...

#10 – MYTHBUSTERS: NASA MOON LANDING MYTHS

*Mythbusters "NASA Moon Landing Hoax" (Season 6, Episode 11)
A 20-question worksheet to accompany this excellent Mythbusters episode focusing on science questions revolving around conspiracy theories that NASA did not land astronauts on the moon. This is great for science classes or history classes when discussing the space race and conspiracy theories.Questions on the assignment go in order and will help students focus on key science topics including: posing questions, modifying experiments, and the scientific method. The worksheet is given as a MS-Word document which will allow easy modifying to fit your class.
