This is a great SPANISH Smartboard activity to use for Whole Group Instruction, during Word Work/Learning Stations/Daily 5, and also to use one on one with students for reinforcement and/or assessment.
Students move penguins down to igloos and polar bears down to ice patches to correctly sequence words into grammatically correct sentences. Suggested instructions have students locate and pull down the word with the capital letter first. Next they locate the word with punctuation and place that word last in the sentence. They then work to sound out and decide where the remaining words in the sentence should go so that it makes sense.
With 32 Sentence Slides students will demonstrate and synthesize their knowledge of: sentence structure, capitalization, punctuation, comprehension, sight words, color words, blending, and vowel patterns along with practicing blends and digraphs. Students can also locate pronouns, nouns and adjectives as well as working on pluralization, past and present tense. Sentences vary from simple 3 word sentences to more complex sentences with up to 6 words to sequence.
Students will also develop Critical Thinking Skills, Problem Solving Skills, Reading Skills, Decoding Skills, etc.
I use Sentence Builders during my Daily 5 rotations and the kids have a BLAST playing with them!
