This beginning sounds sorting skills binder uses real images to represent various pictures that correspond with each letter. This activity is perfect for your early or exceptional learner working on beginning sounds and identifying pictures that correspond with each sound. Some of my students learn better when they have access to real images of things. The use of real images is a great way to promote learning through actual objects. There are two choices to sort from on each page. This is perfect for early learners, exceptional learners or anyone learning to sort/identify beginning sounds.
Once printed simply laminate and Velcro. This will give you a great grab and go book to have on hand at all times throughout the day! This activity can also be divided into three different file folder activities if you would rather have file folder activities instead of one sorting binder.
Each letter includes 6 photos that correspond with the beginning sound for each letter. The exception to this is the letter "x". The pictures for the letter "x" are as follows: x-ray, xylophone, fox, ox, box, ax.
This sorting skills book is perfect for small groups, goal work, centers, whole groups, independent work, early finisher, homework and more! I would love to hear how you use this in your setting!
