Product Description
Articulation Animals are a great and engaging way to practice articulation in speech therapy and then as a take-home activity. With diverse groups, each student in the group can work on their own target sound while still doing the same activity. At the beginning of each month, print off an Articulation Animal of the student’s choice. You have 18 different Articulation Animals to choose from. Then print off the pictures that you want the student to work on. Included are 73 or more black and white pictures for each of the following sounds: /S/, /TH/, /R/ and /S/ BLENDS. I have the students cut out the pictures and as they cut and paste the pictures onto their animal they practice whatever word they are gluing on to each number. When appropriate I also ask students to use the words in sentences. Once all the spaces are filled with pictures the student cuts out the Articulation Animal and glues it where it says "glue" and folds it up (accordion like) to make our fun and giant Articulation Animals. I then like to send this home with the kids. Parents can practice all the words each day with the student or I sometimes tell parents they can go to the number that corresponds with the date each day and have the student practice one word all day long. I tell my kids it is the "word of the day" and they have to see how many times they can use it and make sure to say it with their best sounds. This would then be home practice for an entire month. With students working on the sentence level you could have the student use the word in a sentence. They have to use the word in multiple sentences each day, or describe it, whatever you or the parent chooses to do with the word.
