“Candy Land” game is commonly found in most speech therapy settings. These Candyland cards are designed to help students practice irregular plural nouns while playing the game of Candy land. This card set would be used in place of the original Candy Land game cards. They are look-alike cards with either one square or two in a variety of colors with pictured singular and plural nouns super imposed on the squares. Students are asked to verbally produce label the pictured item/items or use the pictured item/items in a sentence each time they take their turn while playing the game. (Example: If the student picks a card that has a picture of teeth, the student might say, “He is brushing his teeth with a toothbrush.” If the card shows a tooth the student might say, “He just lost his tooth.”) This download includes 36 pairs of different pictured nouns. Each pair shows the singular and plural of the same noun. A list of the target nouns that can be used with the pictures is included in order to help the speech language therapist identify the pictured scenes if necessary. The cards also include the 6 special cards that go with the game board. Different special cards have been included so you can choose the ones that go with your game board (new or older versions). A title sheet is also included and can be used as a label for the Ziploc bag that the cards can be stored in. This game can be used in group or individual instruction with non-readers.
