Print one copy of the picture cards (page 12-13) on cardstock and laminate for durability. Cut apart picture cards
Give each student one “CHATTY CATY” caterpillar board. Extras have been included for variety.
Playing The Game:
Spread out all picture cards facedown on the table in rows. The object of the game is for each player to locate all five opposite pictures that correspond to the five pictures on his/her caterpillar. Randomly choose a player to go first. Taking turns, each player turns over one picture card from the table, naming it and then giving the opposite for that word. If the student has the opposite picture on his/her “CHATTY CATY” caterpillar board, it is placed on top of that picture, and play passes to the left. If it does not match one on the “CHATTY CATY” caterpillar board, the picture is turned face down again and play passes to the left. Play continues until one player covers all the pictures on his/her “CHATTY CATY” caterpillar board.
The winner is the player who covers all the pictures on his/her “CHATTY CATY” caterpillar board first or if time runs out the player with the most pictures covered is the winner.
