Product Description
BUNDLE & SAVE $$$ ! This is a bundle for BOTH CONNECT FOUR for ANTONYMS and CONNECT FOUR FOR SYNONYMS! Games can be played separately or for more challenging word synonym and antonym cards can be mixed while playing the game. Keep language therapy fun, exciting and engaging. These games provide therapists with a fun and motivating game to use with their school aged students while targeting the development of receptive and expressive vocabulary in order to increase student’s comprehension skills and oral expression. Level One and Level Two antonyms/synonyms are included in these games. Level One words are more common or easier for younger students. Level Two cards are more challenging. The therapist determines the level of difficulty and the extent of prompting or coaching each student will need while playing the game. Many vocabulary words used focus on “Tier 2” vocabulary words that are frequently found in the repertoire of mature language users; instruction in these types of words can have a strong impact on language functioning. The instructor may choose the cards he/she wishes to use to play the game. This game allows therapy sessions to be motivating as well as productive. The preparation time is extremely minimal for the therapist and the game format is simple for even the youngest students.

SKILLS TARGETED:

➢Synonyms- Level One & Level Two
➢Antonyms- Level One & Level Two

MATERIALS NEEDED:
➢CONNECT FOUR game board (included)

➢SYNONYMS/ANTONYM QUESTION CARDS (included)
•Level One - more common or easier words for younger students
•Level Two- more challenging vocabulary words

➢Two different sets of colored chips/tokens, one colored set of chips/tokens for each team. Each team will need approximately 20-25 chips/tokens.
DIRECTIONS
2 to 6 players
Setup:
•Print one “CONNECT FOUR “ game board (page 4) on cardstock and laminate for durability.
•Print one copy of the “SYNONYM”/"ANTONYM question cards on cardstock and laminate for durability. Level One words are more common or easier for younger students. Level Two cards are more challenging. Choose the cards that best meet the needs of your students. Cut apart picture cards.
•Separate the students in your group into two teams… TEAM A and TEAM B. Each team is told what colored chips/tokens they will be using to play the game.

Object of the Game:
The object of the game is to get four chips in a row, horizontally, vertically or diagonally.

Playing The Game:
Shuffle the “SYNONYM”/"ANTONYM" question cards and place them in a pile face down in front of students. Choose a team to go first. One student from the team then draws a card from the top of the pile. The teacher then reads the words, one at a time, to that student and the student must provide a synonym/antonym for each word read. Once the student provides a correct synonym/antonym to given words, the team then receives the number of chips indicated at the top of the card (1,2 or 3). The student then places the chips on the CONNECT FOUR game board. If the student cannot provide synonyms/antonym to all the words on the card correctly he/she does not receive the tokens/chips indicated. Play then proceeds to the next team. Students on each team will take turns answering the synonym questions.

Winning
The first team to get four of their chips in a row wins.
