Students play a fun and challenging game of strategy while practicing correct production of the /SH/ phoneme in all position of words. It includes one game set to target /SH/ production. This download is made with the non-reader in mind. Students are asked to say the item pictured each time they take their turn while playing the game. You can increase the complexity of the task by asking student to use the word in sentences. Also included in this download is:
• Directions for game play
• A list of the target words used in order to help the speech language therapist identify the pictured items if necessary.

HOW TO PLAY
OBJECT: To create the most boxes at the end of the allotted time.
YOU SHOULD HAVE:
- 92 Pictures Cards: Print the picture cards (see below) on cardstock and laminate. Cut cards apart.
- One game board for each pair of students playing together. Print one “Connect the Dots” game board page on regular paper for each pair of students I have also printed the game board on cardstock and laminated it and used dry erase markers while playing
DIRECTIONS For GAME PLAY:
Divide your students into groups of two players. If there is not an even number of students the therapist can play with one of the students. The first player draws a card and names the pictured item with good sound production. For additional difficulty students can also be asked to use the pictured word in a sentence with correct sound production. She/he then looks at the number on the card and draws a line between two adjacent dots that number of times. (i.e. if a 2 is on the card the player will draw two different lines between two different adjacent dots). The two dots can be anywhere on the page, but must be vertical or horizontal (diagonal lines are not permitted). The next player does the same. Play continues in this manner for an allotted amount of time. The goal is to close four sides of a box. Each time a player creates a box, he/she writes their initials or name in the box. When a box is made that player goes again. The player who creates the most boxes at the end of the given amount of time wins.
