Use these interactive books to target the understanding and use of plural noun including regular /s/, /z/,/ /es/ and irregular plural nouns. Learners interact with every page as they listen to sentences and then find a matching picture to Velcro to the page. Simple sentences build early language and literacy skills. The students love to be kept busy finding the pictures and then pulling them off and reattaching them using Velcro.
Each of the 15 books targets one form of plural nouns and include:

PREPARATION AND ASSEMBLY:
-Print all pages of each book you will be using on cardstock and laminate for durability. OR Print all pages on regular paper if book is to be placed in the student’s notebook and taken home.
-Trim all pages of each book ….. Cut around outside of each page so they are all the same size.
-Cut all pages, EXCEPT THE LAST PAGE, of each book in half along black line.
-Do not cut apart the last page of each book (page 13, 22, 31, 40, 49, 58, 67, 76, 85, 94, 103, 112, 124, 136, 148 of this packet). Leave the page whole….. This will be used for your interactive pieces.
-Place Velcro pieces on the of each blank frame box on each page. No Velcro Is needed if students are putting this in their notebooks or taking it home. students can glue pictures in place instead.
-Punch holes over the circles in the left gray areas of each page and use notebook rings ( or yarn) to bind the book together. If you bind the pages of the book with notebook rings, you can switch up the pages so students do not memorize the answers.
- Also put Velcro in each box on the last page of each book.
No Velcro will be put on these pages if students are
putting the book in their notebooks or if they are taking it home.
-Cut apart all pictures on the picture page of each book and place Velcro on the back of each picture. Place these pictures on the empty boxes on the last page. OR If student is putting the book in their notebook and taking them home, just place pictures on top of squares so students can see all their choices to pick from and glue into their books.
Directions for use:
- As you read each page of the book, ask your student to find the correct picture on last page and attach it to the empty square. ( Receptive skill)
- After all pictures have been placed in the book, have students talk about each picture and read the book by verbally responding to the question “Where is the worm?” on each page.
