SPIDER HALLOWEEN ABC ORDER promotes competency with alphabetizing Halloween vocabulary words to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd letters. It's a great seasonal way for your students to reinforce their dictionary skills.
This ABC Order game is a fun literacy learning center activity that can be played in buddy pairs or in small groups. Students take turns drawing cards, reading the Halloween words on the card, and writing these words in ABC Order on the recording sheet. Each card is labeled with a letter from the word SPIDER, as is the recording sheet, so players are trying to be the first to completely spell SPIDER to win.
The cards look best in color, but they also print well in gray scale. The recording sheet is in ink-saving black & white.
This packet also includes Teacher Notes, Common Core Standards alignment, How to Play the Game, and an Answer Key.
This activity is aligned with the following Common Core ELA Language Standards:
** Third Grade L.3.2.G and L.3.4.D
It may also be appropriate for your 2nd or 4th graders.
