Two sorting mats (print as many copies as you need, one per student)
28 pairs of antonyms (preK through 3rd grade)-- 2 sets
Level 1: Birds are the same color for each antonym pair as a visual prompt (pages 4-10).
Level 2: Birds are different colors for each antonym pair to increase rigor in the task (pages 12 -18).
Blank cards for additional antonym practice (pages 11 and 19).
Print, laminate, and cut apart mats and cards. The cards can be used to play a matching game (cards face up), a memory game (cards face down), or Go Fish. The cards can also be used as flash cards to supplement other activities. Sorting mats (trees) are used for students to place their paired words on them. In all games, students keep the cards they match correctly. At the end of the game, the person with the most matches wins!
