Here is a helpful reading worksheet that is timely for the spring season. It called ROBINS NESTS ! It comes with a written text, color photo of a robin, color nest drawing and 10 literal comprehension questions. The questions are based on information that is explicitly stated in the robin nest info, so when students read carefully and go back up to the info, they succeed. 7 of the 10 questions are multiple choice. The last 3 three have students write spring words that match little black-and-white pictures shown and are part of the text (bird, nest, tree). Students write the words into elkonin boxes. The strategy will help phoneme-grapheme correspondence; however, my main goal for this worksheet is to promote literal comprehension.
This is a teacher-friendly document that is easy to edit if you wish.
