Description

SPRING MATH MATH MYSTERY PICTURE PUZZLES : 1-100 POCKET CHART PLACE VALUE ACTIVITIES WITH NUMERALS, BASE TEN BLOCKS, AND TEN & ONES

Are you looking for engaging ways for your students to practice number recognition, number sense, and place value of numbers to 100? This resource includes 6 sets of mystery pictures puzzle cards which are meant to be used with a hundreds pocket chart.

This resource comes in 3 differentiated versions so that it is easier to differentiate the activity according to your students’ levels.

The versions are listed below:

•Numbers 1-100 (numerals)

•Representations of numbers to 100 using pictures of base ten blocks

•Tens and Ones (eg: 5 tens 3 ones)

Directions:

Print the cards on cardstock, cut them out, and place each set in a separate container or envelope.

This activity could be carried out with the whole class. Alternatively, the students can work in pairs or small groups to place each card in the correct pocket of the chart. After they have placed all the 100 cards in the correct spot, a mystery picture is revealed.

The size of each card is 2” by 2”. Kindly ensure that these cards are the right fit for your chart.

If you would like to vary the activity, you can put the cards of each set on a ring. Then, students have to look at each card, determine the number represented, and color the matching square accordingly on their recording sheet until they reveal the mystery picture.
