PERFECT ACTIVITY FOR SPRING (March/April) WRITING! This GREAT WEATHER WRITING BOOK comes in two DIFFERENTIATED formats to accomodate the needs of different primary writing abilities. Works great for students in kindergarten, first, and second grade.
Great for making cross-curricular connections between writing and science! I make this into a book and use this for a week's worth of Writing Workshop activities. We talk about what we see, hear, do, etc. on different kinds of days (sunny, snowy, windy, rainy). Students then complete a page and do an illustration.
The first set of slides are for more advanced writers. The cloud is at the top of the paper allowing the student to illustrate below his/her writing. The second format has wider lines for beginner writers. The cloud is the entire length of the page. I used this format for my kindegarteners. When I made this into a book, I stapled two staples across the top, making it a flip book. When you flip the pages open, I have the cloud page on top and a blank page on the bottom providing space for the illustration. They turned out FANTASTIC!
Custom-designed cloud paper template designed exclusively by Kindergarten Korner features top-middle-base lines with shaded area in between sets - perfect for students with OT issues and also for allowing the teacher to translate the kid writing.
