Aligned to the new GSE standards, these sentence strips are a great way to get students engaged in their learning. A great activity to begin a unit is to divide the class into two groups. Distribute to each student a vocabulary sentence strip which contains a vocabulary term and definition. Have students with the same vocabulary term from each group partner up and learn / rehearse their definition. While the outer circle of students remains stationary, the inner circle of students will rotate to a different student and each will teach their vocabulary term to their peer. You can also use the sentence strips as a Ticket-Out-the-Door closing activity, or simply post them on your walls or bulletin boards as reminders of what they have learned throughout the year. I included sentence strips both with a grid and without the gridlines so that making class sets and cutting is easier.
Take care, and make Georgia Studies EZ for not only your students, but for you as well!
