Book Baseball is a fun and simple way for students to show reading comprehension for SSR or any reading activity. Each "base" is worth 25 pts. First base asks students to identify facts about their reading, Second base asks students to draw a visual image about their reading. Third base asks students to write a brief summary of what they read. A home run has students make an inference about what will happen next. Book Baseball is a great formative assessment and can be easily graded. It works well for General Ed students but can be very helpful for Special Ed students as well. Two Book Baseball assessments are on one page for easy printing.
