This file contains 15 days of STAAR intentional problem solving for math interactive notebooks. These problems are based on released tests and are intended for use in the weeks leading up to the STAAR test.
Intentional daily problem solving should be one of your most important daily math routines. In my classroom, students glue their problem down each day, review the problem for important information and think about what the question is asking them to do. Then they solve it in their journal at least two different ways. Next they write down their strategy and their answer in a complete sentence. When they are done, they find a partner to explain their solution to them. As a class, we will then share and go over any issues with the problem. This takes at least 20 minutes a day, but I promise the results of doing this consistently will amaze you! Your children will become math problem solving masters!
