This product is made up of test formatted math problems from Reporting Category #4: Data Analysis & Personal Financial Literacy.
The problems are sorted on the pages by the TEKS that the problem covers. Each one of the TEKS has 3-6 problems. In this set, there are a total of 29 problems.
***Many of these problems are the same as our 4-A-Day Spiral Review problems, but sorted by TEKS instead of a mixed review. However, there are also some new problems as well.
There are 3 other sets available separately that cover Reporting Categories 1, 2, and 3. All of the Sets are available as a Bundle as well.
These problems can be used in a variety of ways. Here are a few ideas:
After our Benchmark Assessment, I make a list of the standards that each individual student needs more practice on by highlighting the TEKS on their “PIP” (Personalized Intervention Plan) which I’ve included in this file as well. (I get this information from the computer generated reports from a data program like DMAC.) Then make each student their own packet with the types of problems they need help on.
Then there are a few ideas you can try from there.....
•: You can pull students into small groups and work the problems together...maybe work one together as a model and then have them try the problem right under it on their own as you watch them. You might create your groups based on the standards they are having trouble with. The problems could also be cut up as Task Cards and you could play a game with students in the small groups. or
•: They can work on these problems on their own and then have the teacher check them. If students are consistently missing problems, you know what to work on still. You can tutor students on these problems one on one.
•: You can make each student their own individual packet of problems based on problems they need help with. Then they can work with their parents on these problems at home. (I would provide an answer key for the parents.) You could give the students several weeks to work through the packet or just make a separate packet each week.
• Because there is at least one page of problems for each of the TEKS, you can use these throughout the school year as a quick formative assessment to check for understanding at the end of a lesson. You could cut them apart if you only need one problem at a time as well.
•If you wanted to work on a different standard each day, you could use these problems as Bellwork in the weeks leading up to the STAAR.
•You can cut up the problems and play a game such as Scoot, Showdown, or a board game to make it more fun.
