I use this powerpoint to teach third grade math vocabulary throughout the year. Repetition is the key to this method's success. In addition to visual vocabulary, which allows the student to connect a picture to a math term, I also teach and test the students on these terms in written format. This really helps the students that struggle with reading to make the connection between the visual representation and the written definition. I use this for my ELL's, tutoring groups, RTI, Spec. Ed. students, and whole class. This is a set of 150 terms. Some are purposely duplicated as I have found these terms to be the ones that my students needed to see more often. Rearrange these as you would like and add to it. I just wanted to share my work with others and hope to help students learn math vocabulary in a fun, and interactive way. The powerpoint can also be printed and cards laminated to send home with students for extra practice. This is a FULL YEAR of vocabulary.
