My students have always struggled with identifying a CHANGE in physical property. You know the question: If a candy bar melts, what physical property changed? I developed this simple activity to give them practice.
ACTIVITY: I copy, laminate and cut. I give a group a set of cards. They make a stack out of the white cards and turn one over at a time. The group discusses which physical property changes. They slide the colored physical properties close to the white card. You could have them write their justification or just discuss. It’ll be interesting to ask: Which physical properties DON’T change?
