I have studied the last two years of STAAR released Reading tests, and have used this information to prepare all of my practice STAAR tests on TpT. I have used all of the TEKS that were included on the past two year tests, and have formatted the questions to mimic the stems and answer choices.
It appears that students have the most trouble with understanding the questions being asked, so they struggle with the answer choices available. This training test has shorter passages so that students can focus on the questions and possible answers.
This Unit Includes:
2 Literary Nonfiction Passages
2 Nonfiction Passages
2 Realistic Fiction Passages
1 Informational/Procedural Passage
Each passage has 7-8 questions for students to answer. The procedural passage has 11 questions.
The unit contains 69 questions in all with multiple TEKS repeated.
The TEK being tested follows each question. An answer key is included.
GREAT FOR STAAR TUTORIALS!!!
KEEP CALM and Reach for the STAAR!
May you be blessed during the test:)
***(This is designed for the STAAR third grade level test. If you should have a high second grader that you would like to start preparing, or a lower level fourth grader, this unit could be used for tutoring purposes.)
