The STAAR Reading Review Weekly was made for a third grade classroom to help review and prepare for the upcoming STAAR reading test (3rd Grade). It's a full week of STAAR prep and homework/practice perfectly aligned to STAAR stems, informational texts, and new TEKS!
You'll notice the expository texts build background knowledge directly related to STAAR 2018. Five short expository texts are included:

In addition to the 5 daily passages with multiple-choice STAAR questions, there are also five pages for "homework". They are designed for additional practice, and could easily be labeled Prereading or Peer Practice.
If you don’t like homework, place them in a station, or use them for peer reading before doing the STAAR reading review.
Monday In Class: Use the 1st open-ended passage for modelling your expectations in class. Complete the 1st multiple-choice passage.
Monday Homework: Use the 2nd open-ended passage for homework.
Tuesday In Class: Check homework, then work the 2nd multiple-choice passage.
Tuesday Homework: 3rd open-ended passage.
Wednesday In Class: Check homework, then work the 3rd multiple-choice passage.
Wednesday Homework: 4th open-ended passage.
Thursday In Class: Check homework, then work the 4th multiple-choice passage.
Thursday Homework: 5th open-ended passage.
Friday in Class: Check homework, then work the 5th multiple-choice passage. Take cumulative grade from student answer document.
