Are you tired of sorting cards and science passages overload? Do your students need a quick real hands-on lab to spiral or refresh their memories of the labs you have done through the year? Mine sure did! Here are hands-on quick labs to help review for STAAR OR to put in a mini station after a concept has been taught. Tweezers, magnifying glasses and more required!
Stations in this packet:
Refraction vs. Reflection
Build a Circuit
Rocks and Fossils
Rotation vs. Revolution
Food Webs, Food Chains, Structures & Functions, Inherited vs. Learned Traits (LIFE dvd; laptop or other media needed for this lab)
Please note, all stations are mini-labs for review. NO WORKSHEETS. Get out the science supplies! Get out the books on animals! (For food chains) The quick lab cards have materials needed as well as directions. Students use science journals, notebook paper, etc. to record observations, make tables, etc. This is an end of the year review but can be used throughout the year after a concept has been taught. The majority of the labs focus heavily on Grade 5 Readiness Standards.
This product will grow with a focus on supporting standards.
How do I use this product personally? Right before our state test, and also as a science spiral, this is what we are doing in science. Please be aware that I use media heavily for Reporting Category 4. Best bang of knowledge from that little dvd. (LIFE series) Worth it if you teach Grade 5.
