Stress is real...and it's real for many kids before they take standardized tests. Help them recognize their strengths and concerns with these pre-made tickets. They write down their biggest concern or fear on one ticket; on the other, they write the strength that will help them succeed.
Once students have identified what their concerns are and what strengths will help them succeed, have them tear up the concern ticket, store in a small plastic baggie, and use it for confetti after the test is over! Celebrate leaving fears and concerns behind.
The success ticket becomes a touchstone...a reminder that their strengths are real and tangible in the same way the ticket is.
