In my experience, if you ask most students how they felt about their STAAR reading test, most will tell you that they got tired and started to rush, or guess. I find this especially true for those students with learning challenges, or who struggle with reading. This is a list I created to help my students tackle the STAAR test in a logical way. It allows them to practice strategies that help them focus their energy on the more challenging questions and passages, and look at the test through a different lens.
**This needs to be used as a tool while prepping for STAAR (such as benchmarks and practice STAAR tests), and not as an aid for STAAR, unless approved.**
