I use this sheet for individual conferences before any important test (especially the STAAR Test).
I start by reviewing what a SMART goal is as a whole group. Students set their own goals according to their previous scores and then write their “I will” statements independently.
You may want to include a lesson on SMART goals, which is the first section of this sheet. When students set a goal, they need to ask themselves each question. If the answer is yes to each question, they have set a SMART Goal.
STAAR test scores have to do with confidence. Stress hurts your brain, so we then bring our goal back to why we are here at school with our long term career goal. We are working toward that goal everyday at school.
