This product is designed to be used in middle school classrooms.
In this product you will find warm-up questions about short poems in the public domain.
The poems included are:
“Fire and Ice” by Robert Frost
“Little Things” by Ebenezer Cobham Brewer
“Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star”
“Love Between Brothers and Sisters” by Isaac Watts
“Cupid Drowned” by Leigh Hunt
“Life, I Know Not What Thou Art” by A.L. Barbauld
“A Day Well Spent” by George Eliot
“Little Birdie” by Alfred Lord Tennyson
“The Little Plant” by Kate L. Brown
“November” by Alice Cary
There are a total of 20 warm ups with 2 questions per warm-up. (40 questions total) Some of the poems are used more than once. (There are a total of 10 poems.)
All of the questions are open ended. The questions are designed to look like questions students may see on the STAAR test. The questions that are asked have been created using STAAR stems and modeled from the released STAAR passages.
