This puzzle is designed to be laminated and cut apart into puzzle pieces that students sort and/or match up. They are best stored in a manila folder, and pulled out when students are struggling with counting elements and atoms within chemical formulas.
This puzzle is designed to help students with TEXAS 8th grade science TEK 8.5 D - demonstrate and calculate how to count the number of elements and atoms in a chemical formula with subscripts.
Instructions are on the puzzle's title piece, and an answer key is provided so they can check their own work when finished. These puzzles have been very effective with our students mastering the Texas TEKS for the Science STAAR test - and students have fun reviewing with puzzles instead of worksheets. My students have even told me these puzzles are FUN!
