If you're tired of using the same old project ideas year after year, this project uses materials that most students have around the house and is colorful and different. This project also allows students to choose a state in the United States to delve more deeply into through research.
Students will be creating a cube (a box) of a state of their choice, or the teacher might assign the states to the students to prevent students from doing the same states. The teacher can decide to allow students to conduct research at school or at home. Students will present the cube to the class.
Sheets explaining the cube are included as well as a reference sheet to describe how to write the references. A rubric for the project is also provided.
My students have always enjoyed doing this project and also listening to their friends present their projects as well. This is a great culminating project for the end of the year!
