Product Description
This is a handout/worksheet that briefly describes the five methods of indirect characterization (speech, thoughts, effect on others, actions and looks) that an author uses to bring characters to life on the page. The worksheet also includes a chart with each method of indirect characterization and a picture representation for each. Students use the chart to record excerpts that represent each of the five methods of characterization and what each tells/shows us about a character. This worksheet also reinforces the idea that students need to cite their sources by requiring a citation for each entry.
