This unit details the process of students learning about people with disabilities and artificial limbs. Students will be tasked with the goal of creating an artificial limb with their team/group that meets a very particular set of requirements. Students will work through the trial, error, and modification process until they are satisfied with their creation. Students will then have the opportunity to present their artificial limb to their peers and discuss the steps they had taken from the selection of the limb, to detailed drawings, to the many creations and alterations they make along the way.
This unit includes a detailed assessment rubric and expectations for the students.
