This activity is designed to develop teamwork and problem-solving abilities while gaining hands-on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) skills.
The purpose of this STEM Lab is for students to conduct an experiment, collect data, and then use the data to predict the maximum number of rubber bands that should be used to give Barbie a safe Bungee jump from a height of 300cm. Step by step directions are also given to teach students how to input data into an EXCEL spreadsheet and create a line graph.
Unlike other Barbie Bungee projects, our activities are geared towards intermediate elementary students.
Math standards covered include: MACC.5.G.1.2, MACC.5.G.1.1, and MACC.4.OA.1.3.
