Building a roller coaster aka ball run aka marble run
Building a roller coaster is so much fun! You learn about scientific principles such as gravity, friction and speed. We had so much fun, we made two kinds: table top and wall!
This product begins with a short blurb about why use STEM at all. Then I review the standards this addresses and for which grades. Finally I review different types of ball runs: store bought, wall and table top. I included teacher directions, the design challenge and a student planning sheet for both the table top and wall ball runs. I made a colorful version which works great on the projector and a B&W version for printing.
Have a great time making your roller coasters!
